Ideas for Couple's Cosplay

I've never actually cosplayed before. Okay, that's a lie. For my video game themed birthday party, my mom made me a Wind Waker Princess Zelda costume herself. I bought a horrible wig and elf ears from the Halloween store. Too bad I don't have any pictures of me in that costume. At the time, I thought I was the epitome of cool...I wasn't. Now that I'm a bit older and a bit wiser, I might be able to make a better looking cosplay that would be worthy to show off at conventions.

After I got a little bit of experience, I would love to cosplay with my boyfriend! After some bribing and coaxing, I might be able to snag him in a costume to take him around some local conventions. Yeah, that would take a lot of convincing on my part if I ever wanted him in cosplay. In case my dream becomes reality, and you just happen to be looking for some ideas as well, here's my couple's cosplay wish list!

1. Luna and Gill from Harvest Moon: Animal Parade

The entire point of the Harvest Moon video games is to, take care of a farm, marry a cute guy/girl, and have children. There are so many couples that you can choose from different games across the ages, it's almost too difficult to pick! For me, I love Luna and Gill because of how cute they look. I already own a light purple wig that would be pretty close to what Luna wears; and the outfits they wear aren't too difficult to construct. It would be perfect as a beginning couples cosplay.

2. Finn and Princess Bubblegum / Fionna and Prince Gumball from Adventure Time

I love Adventure Time but I haven't had the time to catch up with the series. I've been watching it periodically on Netflix when I have the chance. I really love the show, especially the Fionna and Cake episode! I'm not exactly sure if I could convince my boyfriend to "think pink" for a day and be Prince Gumball. (Maybe telling him that his idol, Neil Patrick Harris, voiced the character would do the trick!) If I were to be Princess Bubblegum, I think I would have to cosplay her as a child, since I'm much shorter than my boyfriend. Either way, these couples are just too cute!

3. Chihiro and Haku from Spirited Away

We both love Spirited Away so so so much. This is personally my favorite movie of all time. I would love to become Chihiro and I would love to see my boyfriend as Haku. Out of the three cosplays I picked out, this is one I can actually see happening sometime soon! (Only because he really enjoyed the movie. If he didn't know what his was, well, this would take some explaining...)

4. Link and Zelda from Skyward Sword

I already have a MAJOR crush on these character designs for Link and Zelda. I was throwing around the idea of cosplaying as Zelda by myself, but really, wouldn't it be more fun if I had Link with me as well? My boyfriend knows I'm a huge Zelda fan, so if I mentioned this one to him, it wouldn't be a surprise. There are so many different parts to the costume, and so many props that would have to be made!

Of course, there are plenty of cosplays out there for couples to do. The possibilities are endless! I have so many more ideas in my head, but I kept it to just these four for now. Maybe in the future, I'll make another post of couple's cosplay ideas! Let me know who you would cosplay as with your significant other! I would love to hear what your ideas are! Thanks for reading!

HOW TO: Become a Deer Girl

Art By Teagan White

My boyfriend has constantly described my tumblr as "a mix of vintage stuff and girls dressed up as deer." That is very accurate. For some reason, I very much like the idea of going around in very adorable clothes with a pair of antlers on my head. (Yes, I know that female deer do NOT have antlers, but I am going to ignore that fact at the moment (´∀`))

This "How To" post will be ideas and suggestions if I ever wanted of fulfill my dream of living in a cottage and becoming a Deer Girl. You do NOT have to follow my "How To" exactly, and if you have any suggestions to add, feel free to comment below! I would love to hear from you!

And now, I will be going from top to the bottom.

1. Head

The first step to making yourself as a pretty Deer Girl is a pair of fancy antlers. I know that there are plenty of shops that sell antlers online. You can go and get yourself a pretty, glittery pair of antlers with a fantasy/storybook feel, or you can buy a natural pair of antlers that look real! (The pair on the right are actually REAL antlers!) You can even make your own pair of antlers to your from clay or paper mache.

2. Face

To me, becoming a deer girl is a way to experiment with your face. You can have a natural look to your makeup or you can dress up your look by using this Halloween makeup tutorial below! Of course, there are plenty of other tutorials out there to use! Explore and see what you like best!

3. Clothes

If I am indeed taking inspiration from the deer who live in the forest, then I would have to say that a majority of a Deer Girl's wardrobe should consist of natural browns, tans, creams, and whites. I certainly took inspiration from Mori Girl fashions, which is a style I absolutely love. In this collection I made on polyvore, I added dresses, skirts, blouses, and shoes that I believe would be perfect items to wear as a Deer Girl. (Just as a side note, items that are found on polyvore are usually very expensive! Unless you have the budget, try to find similar items for a lot less!)

Lots of cute clothes and floral prints! (。♥‿♥。)

Well, that's it for today! I hope you liked this "How To"! Leave comments telling me what you liked/what I could do better for my next "How To" post! Thanks for reading my little Deer Girls!

Through the First Week

Hello everyone!

It's hard to believe it's already September! My summer flew by so fast that I can hardly believe I've been in school for a week!

I switch back and forth between easy-going days and busy days. I hope that I can get used to this schedule again so that I am not too tuckered during the week. I guess this means I will have to start going to bed a regular time than staying up late! Eek! That will definitely ruin my work ethic if I'm tired all the time!

Currently, I do not have any pictures to show of my new dorm. This is because I am currently at home and will be going back to campus tomorrow! Hopefully, I can take some pictures and make another "room tour" type of post! I did preview the room a tiny bit in a video I made during our first weekend together!

I bought a nice camera to use while walking around and talking. I hope to make plenty more videos when I have the time this year! Feel free to find me on my channel and say hi! That's it for now, I shall get to bed and get up bright and early tomorrow!

Zoe Keating at The Ark and other meetings

So on May 6th, my parents and I drove to Ann Arbor to see one of my favorite cellists perform. Okay, she's the only cellist that I listen to constantly when I'm studying, but still, Zoe Keating is one of the most brillant live performers I have ever encountered.

I really don't know how she does it. She records a small bit of melody and loops it back using all sorts of technology and then continues to play over that loop and makes an amazing song out of it. It's hard to believe it's just her playing all the parts when it sounds like 20 cellos at once, but trust me, she did it all herself! If you never heard of Zoe Keating, I suggest you start.

Mmm...pub food.
We got a there a bit earlier than usual, simply because my father got the time wrong. We ended up eating outside at a pub for a while, just relaxing and talking. And as we are sitting there, my father points out someone who is just walking by us. It was Zoe Keating herself. She just...walked right by us and right into The Ark!

So, we got inside and got our seats. The theatre inside is very nice. Plus you could eat and drink in there...not that we were hungry. Right before the show started, I turned and whispered to my parents "I hope she plays my favorite song!" And guess what? She played my favorite song, Escape Artist, FIRST! I got chills down my back! It was too cool seeing her live.

Seeing Zoe Keating also reminded me of some other chance encounters I had with people I admired. (Or used to be obsessed with as one of the cases might be.) My family and my best friend and her family went to The Bling Pig in Ann Arbor to see a really cool guitarist, Kaki King. My dad is practically in love with her music and now I am too! She was really funny when she told her random stories. That was a nice concert to go see.

The other time I had a chance encounter was when I saw my childhood idol, Aaron Carter, in NYC. He was in the production of The Fantasticks. Not one of my favorite shows, but still entertaining, especially since I was staring at my old idol on stage, while holding my boyfriend's hand at the same time. Don't worry, Aaron Carter won't be stealing my heart again anytime soon.
After the show, the cast came out, and practically every girl there waited in line to see him. Everyone with me wanted to wait in line, but I was giggling and getting nervous so we decided to go. We walked right by him as we exited the little theatre. I really don't regret not getting a picture with him, honestly!

So, there you go, my long story of meeting idols old and new. Sorry not sorry this was so long, but I enjoy writing, as you can see. Hopefully, my posts in the future will be shorter!

Life Lately

Hello again everyone!

Just wanted to talk a little bit about things that have been happening. Obviously, I finished school up last week. My boyfriend decided to drive up for the hour and a half to come and get me! How sweet of him! This post will come in two parts...just like a vlogbrothers video.

PART ONE:

That night was the release of Iron Man 3, which my marvel-fanatic roommate went to go see. My family and I went to see it on Friday after they got out of school. Of course, as two college freshmen we HAD to take a picture for Monsters University. I'm so excited to see it!

If I could, I would go to Monsters University...

THEN, the boyfriend had me take this picture of him bowing in front of Leo. We are both so excited for The Great Gatsby...we might even dress up when we go see it!

"BOW PEASANTS!"
PART TWO:

The boyfriend found an old, decrepit piano (or electric organ he wasn't sure) on the side of the road the day before I got home. I told him to pick it up and we can see if we could salvage any of it and fix it up to make it some pretty art. Well, the piano was very dirty and rotted, but we managed to pull apart the keys and save those. We plan on doing something extra cool with those...I'll be sure to keep you updated on that!

After we picked apart the piano and threw the rest away, we were left with some nasty looking piano keys...which we spent a whole day washing. Boy, that was fun. It was worth it though, because they look x100000 better than they did before.

All clean!

Hope you are all having an amazing start to your summer. I know I am!

One Gone

One roommate is already gone and I feel like I lost a little bit of me. We became really good friends over the year and I'm going to miss her so much. Plus tonight the show she introduced me to is on and I'll feel so weird not watching it with her. Tomorrow, the other roommate leaves in the morning, leaving myself and our fourth roommate. I'll most likely be home all day not doing anything.

That is all. I just wanted to write something.

End of the Year is approaching!

Hello again everyone! I've been busy studying for finals, but I managed to fit in a few more adventures before I leave! Three days left!

First of all, my current (and future) roommates decided to visit the building where we are going to live next fall! It's really nice there, we just need to find a fourth girl to live with us! (Got any suggestions for me?)

Someone drew this diagram of a flower on the sidewalk in front of our future home...

Today, we took a little walk down to a local Italian restaurant for one final meal together (that wasn't cafeteria food!) We opted for a nice pizza and mozzarella sticks to keep our bellies full. (Not to mention the nice bread we got to eat!)

Yum yum yum ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ

And of course we couldn't leave without getting some dessert! Chocolate cake and tiramisu! Delicious!

Soooo good!

...almost TOO good! We devoured both of them!

So, with only a few days left, I've been taking it easy....last night I couldn't sleep a wink! I'll make sure to get plenty of sleep for tomorrow's two exams! Wish me luck!!

Moving Day

Today was the day we had to rearrange our dorm back to what it looked like at the beginning of the year. My roommate and I are almost done with the process! It looks so different now.

My very messy desk...we moved the spare desk back over to where it used to be. No more TV or Wii for us (;へ:)

Most of our things were moved into our bedroom while moving. It normally doesn't look this messy in here, I swear!

There's my lovely partner in cleaning crime. All four desks were originally on this side of the room, but we moved my desk and the spare desk over to give them room.

That's what's going on so far! My family is coming up to pick up the things I don't need for finals week (extra clothes, supplies, etc.) and then I get to continue my studies. Five more days until I am back home! I can't wait for summer to start!

Have a great day you love bugs!
